Fully Automated Driverless Transport System for SmartLogisticNetwork VE21
Fully Automated Driverless Transport System (FTS): Establishment of an efficient, automated, and sustainable logistics system for the long-term supply of existing and new clinic buildings at Universitätsklinikum Bonn (UKB) on Campus Venusberg, especially the Heart Center. The FTS forms the backbone of the SmartLogisticNetwork and is used for automated goods distribution within the underground logistics tunnel and in buildings such as Central Sterilization (Bldg. 45), Supply Center (Bldg. 50), Pharmacy (Bldg. 53), Heart Center (Bldg. 25), Ward Block 1 (Bldg. 24), Surgery (Bldg. 23), Operative Center (Bldg. 22), and Buildings 20, 3, and 4. Transported goods include pharmacy products, medical products, laundry, food, sterile goods, and waste. The vehicles are designed as under-riders that lift conventional transport trolleys and move on predefined routes, communicating autonomously with door controls and elevators. The control center is located in the logistics center. Technical infrastructure includes automation stations with BACnet interfaces and comprehensive WLAN coverage within the tunnel. Implementation will occur in two construction phases.
