Cell culture study on the influence of high-frequency electromagnetic fields (HF-EMF) on oxidative stress and DNA damage: three human normal tissue cell types of different origins are to be used as a model system, exposed to HF-EMF using an exposure facility. Subsequently, the mitochondrial fraction is to be isolated, and valid biomarkers for oxidative stress, the copy number of mitochondrial DNA, and the transcripts of three mitochondrial genes are to be quantified. The results are intended to improve radiation protection and radiation safety.
