Development of an automated measurement system for pollutant determination in polar regions: Investigation of existing technical measurement systems for pollutant measurement in German research stations and logistics (e.g., research vessels, expedition ships), automation of these systems using data-driven algorithms and AI methods to optimize process structure and ensure future-proof data collection and interfaces. The goal is to establish long-term monitoring structures for persistent substances like POPs and PFAS in air and seawater samples, based on the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP), to identify pollution trends and support international environmental protection and pollutant regulation.
