Permanent Reinforcement of Republican Road II-58 at km 4+350: Design and Construction

Engineering services and construction works for the permanent reinforcement of Republican Road II-58 (Konush-Chernoochene) – Komuniga at km 4+350 in the Kardzhali region. This includes the development of a technical design, author's supervision during the construction phase, and the execution of construction and installation works (engineering) for the permanent reinforcement of the road section from km 4+250 to km 4+450. The construction is classified as Category I and as Group II transport infrastructure. The existing road is a Class II mountainous road with a gauge of G10.50 m, consisting of two traffic lanes of 3.75 m each and two shoulders of 1.50 m each. The road pavement structure includes 4 cm dense asphalt concrete Type A, 4 cm non-dense asphalt concrete, 15 cm crushed stone pavement, and a 35 cm ballast base. Drainage is superficial with a lined ditch and drainage system on the left, and a culvert with Ø 800 mm at km 4+359. An emergency area 3.00 m wide is located at km 4+300 left. According to the registers of OPU-Kardzhali, there are no facilities of other departments in this section. The existing technical design requires revision due to terrain changes to achieve a sustainable technical solution. The investment project must be prepared in the 'Technical Design' phase according to the requirements of the Design Assignment (Appendix A).
