Compact Analysis of WACCS Impact on District Heating Supply

Compact analysis of the effects on district heating supply from the use of WACCS: Analysis of the competitive situation for heat energy during CO2 capture in thermal waste treatment plants (TAB) and its consequences for district heating supply. Investigation of greenhouse gas-neutral compensation options for the loss of waste heat from TABs, resulting costs for heat network operators and their coverage by funding schemes (BEW, KWKG), as well as costs and revenues for operators of thermal waste recovery plants due to the loss of heat and electricity revenues, CO2 pricing, and potential income from negative emissions from the biogenic share in WACCS. Creation of an overview of necessary steps for managing potential revenue and energy shortfalls to enable WACCS integration.
