PET and CT Imaging Services for Children's Health Ireland Patients
PET and CT imaging services for patients referred by Children's Health Ireland (CHI): predominantly children and young people up to 18 years of age, with a small number of referrals for patients over 18 years of age. Approximately 80 PET CT examinations per annum are anticipated; this figure is for guidance only and does not constitute a guaranteed minimum activity. Circa 5 percent of patients referred for PET imaging may require general anaesthesia or deep sedation; this is preferred but not a mandatory requirement. A multi-supplier framework agreement will be established with up to three service providers, with CHI reserving the right to appoint fewer than three or a single provider. Services will be drawn down on a patient-specific basis, with the selection of the service provider determined by CHI considering clinical requirements, service availability, capacity, facility accessibility, and patient/family preferences. Facility location and accessibility are important aspects for tender evaluation and referral decisions.
