Technical Equipment Planning for a New Community Center in Bürgewald

Planning of technical equipment for the former church and ancillary buildings: complete new planning aiming for climate neutrality in operation (no fossil fuels); initial compatibility of technical building equipment (TBE) with existing, outdated infrastructure, with long-term integration into new, cross-sector infrastructure (district heating network, smart grid). Challenges include fire damage to the church, partially poor condition of existing buildings, identified pollutants, and contamination. Parts of the church and the soil of the entire planning area are under soil monument protection, requiring coordination for the planning and execution of underground utility lines. Funding conditions regarding sustainability, climate-friendliness, energy efficiency, and accessibility must be met. The project is designed as a pilot for circular construction, involving the reuse of existing building materials and components or their redistribution via material exchanges ("Urban Mining").
