Shell Construction Works for Renovation and Extension of the Saxon State Parliament

Shell construction works for the erection of two supplementary buildings for the existing Saxon State Parliament as special structures: "Kubus" component as a tower-like new building with two basements and 5 upper floors for predominantly public use, including a large, two-story hearing room and divisible meeting rooms; execution difficulties due to the location in the inner courtyard without significant storage options. Exterior wall construction as a three-shell concrete structure with core insulation, exterior wall surfaces in exposed concrete class 4, total height up to 24.50 m, construction in several concreting sections; interior wall surfaces in corridors and stairwells in exposed concrete class 3. Fine excavation / subgrade approx. 360 m³; basement exterior walls as waterproof concrete construction (WU-construction) with external fresh concrete composite foil approx. 980 m²; base plate, waterproof concrete (WU-concrete) approx. 800 m³, installation thickness 60 cm, underside with fresh concrete composite foil approx. 1,500 m², execution in three foundation levels; load-bearing exterior walls (inner shell), C25/30, approx. 1,200 m³; core insulation, 20 cm, approx. 1,600 m²; installation of facade panel anchors and GFK-Isolink anchor rods; non-load-bearing weather protection shell, 18 cm in in-situ concrete, exposed concrete class 4 (SB4) approx. 310 m³; west facade with supporting structure as a 9-part Vierendeel truss over three floors, HEB 450/550, total weight approx. 32 tons, maximum single weight approx. 6.3 tons; ceiling beams as HEA 320/400, single length 12 m in 4 floor ceilings, total weight approx. 38.70 tons; steel trapezoidal sheet-concrete composite slab, slab thickness 15 cm, approx. 1,060 m²; in-situ concrete slabs C25/30, approx. 670 m³; topping concrete composite slabs, C30/37 approx. 180 m³; precast stair flights for two stairwells in exposed concrete class II (SBII); electrical / sanitary installation work; non-load-bearing partition walls in 3DF sand-lime brick masonry (wall thickness 17.5 cm approx. 140.00 m² and wall thickness 24 cm approx. 90 m²); non-load-bearing partition walls, wall thickness 11.50 cm, in 2DF sand-lime brick masonry, approx. 74 m². "Annex" component located in front of the Erlweinspeicher / Maritim Hotel as a longitudinally oriented office building with two basements and 3.5 upper floors for parliamentary offices, subterraneously connected to the plenary hall; execution difficulties due to the location in front of the operational hotel, lack of storage areas in the construction site, and only one access road to the construction site. Exterior wall construction as a three-shell concrete structure with core insulation, exterior wall surfaces in exposed concrete class 4, total height up to 14.00 m, construction in several concreting sections; interior walls in exposed concrete class 1 (SB1) planned for subsequent interior plaster / spackling.
