Reconstruction of flood protection embankments for the Motława River in Gdańsk
Design and build contract for the reconstruction of the left and right flood protection embankments of the Motława River in Gdańsk, from river kilometer 4+850 to 7+510. The length of the embankments is approximately 2,541 m on the right bank and approximately 2,702 m on the left bank, totaling 5,243 m. The project area covers approximately 8.585 ha. The objective is to increase flood safety by adapting the technical parameters of the embankments to hydrotechnical structure class II. The scope includes preparatory works, demolition works, earthworks, water intakes with 3 temporary working cofferdams, drainage, ground reinforcement, construction of a reinforced concrete intake structure, technological equipment with 600 x 600 mm gate valves, as well as the reconstruction of flood protection embankments with earthworks, reinforcement of the embankment crown and access roads with prefabricated multi-hole reinforced concrete slabs, slope reinforcements, protection against beaver activity, and vertical reinforcements at the mouth of the Radunia River in the form of steel sheet piles approximately 7.75 m long, topped with a reinforced concrete capping beam. The execution period is up to 29 months from contract signing, with the design phase (Phase I) lasting up to 20 months (Stage I up to 10.5 months, Stage II up to 16.5 months, Stage III up to 20 months) and the construction phase (Phase II) lasting up to 29 months.
