What is a Price Sheet?
A Price Sheet (Preisblatt) is a document provided by the contracting authority where the bidder enters prices for the tendered service positions. It forms the basis for price evaluation and the subsequent contract.
Structure
A typical price sheet includes position numbers, service descriptions, measurement units, quantities, unit prices (net), total prices per position, and an overall total.
Types
By pricing structure: Unit prices (per defined unit), lump sum prices (fixed price for total service), hourly rates (by qualification), and framework contract prices.
By complexity: Simple (few positions), multi-level (main and sub-positions), and calculation matrices (complex scenarios).
Rules for Completion
- Completeness: All positions must be priced – empty fields may lead to exclusion
- No modifications: The structure must not be altered
- Consistency: Unit prices and total prices must be arithmetically correct
- No conditions: Prices must not be conditional
- Net prices: Typically net prices are required, VAT shown separately
Arithmetic Review
The authority reviews calculations. Where unit price and total price differ, the unit price typically prevails. Obvious errors are corrected, and the corrected total determines the evaluation.
Common Mistakes
Unpriced positions, calculation errors, format errors, unauthorized structural changes, and mixed calculations are the most frequent issues.
