General contractor services for the new construction of Gesamtschule Berliner Straße and the accommodation of Musikschule Bochum Wattenscheid: erection of school buildings, required equipment and user-specific installations (interior and exterior), associated outdoor facilities, traffic and media infrastructure development. Gesamtschule Mitte will be expanded from four to six classes and relocated to Berliner Straße. The Gesamtschule is designed for approx. 1,400 students. The music school occupies less than 10 % of the total area and is to be planned as an independent building section with a separate, ground-level main entrance. Functional areas of the Gesamtschule include learning and teaching areas for secondary levels I and II (spatially separated, year-group clusters), science rooms, technology and workshop rooms, art and music rooms, community and common areas (forum/canteen with kitchen, cafeteria, library/media center, rooms for performing arts), school administration, teacher team stations, technical and storage rooms. The music school includes instrumental and vocal lessons, elementary music education and dance, rehearsal rooms, a sound studio, an instrument storage, and administrative areas. Open spaces include a schoolyard, school garden, and parking spaces for motor vehicles and bicycles. One or more drainage swales with a total size of 1,500 m² are to be constructed. The project site in Bochum-Wattenscheid includes a former sports facility, a gas station area (to be handed over free of contamination), and adjacent access roads. Requirements include open room concepts, barrier-free access, and clear orientation.
