Technical equipment for new community center in Bürgewald

Re-planning of technical equipment for the former church and annex buildings: The goal is operational climate neutrality without fossil fuels. The technical building equipment (TGA) must initially be compatible with the existing, outdated infrastructure and long-term integrated into a new, cross-sector infrastructure (district heating network, smart grid). Specific challenges include pre-damage from fire, poor condition of existing buildings, detected pollutants, and contamination. Parts of the church and the soil are under monument protection, requiring coordination for the planning and execution of buried utility lines. Funding conditions regarding sustainability, climate-friendliness, energy efficiency, and accessibility must be met. The project serves as a pilot for circular construction, including the reuse of building materials and elements from existing stock (Urban Mining).
