Structural Engineering for Renovation of Funkhaus Area Buildings 2 and 3

Structural engineering for the renovation of buildings 2 and 3 of the Funkhaus Area: Building 2 includes preservation and renovation with technical separation of access from Building 1 and Building 3, reopening of the main entrance with restoration of the original staircase, self-sufficient building services by separating utilities (basement with own electrical connection room, distribution room, district heating transfer station, house connection room with drinking water connection), addition of a load-bearing wall in partial areas of building axis B, construction of a load-bearing wall including foundation in building axis C, creation of 2 rental units per floor with their own sanitary cores, creation of an electrical room at the end of the rental units with connection to the electrical connection room in the basement, room temperature control via existing radiators, closing of access from the general staircase to the current WC facilities, fire protection upgrade, dismantling of raised floors in the studios and studio installations with subsequent simple floor construction, removal of hazardous materials, potential replacement of blown-in insulation in the roof truss, and potential replacement of wooden windows. The character of the building is to be fully preserved without energy-related renovation. Building 3 includes preservation and renovation with technical separation of access from Building 2 and the high-rise building, rearrangement of vertical access to enable multiple rental units, reopening of the main entrance, creation of a new entrance in the joint area between Building 2 and 3 with a freestanding stair tower (basement to top floor) in the inner courtyard, extension of the existing staircase (axis 1-4) to the top floor (also provides access to the existing underground car park), assignment of the internal existing staircase (axis 3-5) from ground floor to 2nd floor to the rental unit on the 1st floor and dismantling of the continuing staircase to the 2nd floor, self-sufficient building services by separating utilities (basement with own electrical connection room, distribution room, district heating transfer station, house connection room with drinking water connection), preservation of the studios in the basement with creation of a second escape route at the new stair tower, addition of sanitary cores in axis 22-24, creation of an electrical room at the end of the rental units with connection to the electrical connection room in the basement, fire protection upgrade, removal of hazardous materials, demolition of the shallow-pitched gable roof, construction of a new top floor with a roof terrace as a lightweight roof construction (roof design towards Hopfenstraße as a flat roof, slightly set back from the existing building body; towards the inner courtyard as a shed roof).
