Space Competition between Public Transport and Cycling on Main Roads

Research project on space competition between public transport and cycling on main roads: Derivation of operational criteria and recommendations for the cross-sectional design of shared bus and cycle lanes. It must be clarified under which operating conditions the combined guidance of buses and cycling on a shared lane is advantageous for both transport modes and which cross-sectional divisions are suitable. Furthermore, it must be defined under which conditions shared guidance should be avoided and separate solutions pursued. Cross-sections are to be determined based on available widths and desired usage intensities.
