Kornhaus Museum Redesign

Monument-appropriate renovation, modernization, and conversion of the Kornhaus in Kirchheim unter Teck in two construction phases: Renovation, repair, and modernization of the Kornhaus from the ground floor to the attic, including the first escape route (east staircase) and elevator down to the basement in the 1st construction phase; removal of subsequent installations from the vaulted cellar and renovation of the natural stone vault in the 2nd construction phase after the dismantling of the combined heat and power plant. The building will be upgraded in terms of building physics and fire protection. Building footprint approx. 40.80 x 14.70 m, eaves height approx. 11.30 m or 11.70 m, ridge height approx. 20.30 m or 20.50 m. Total usable area approx. 1,800 m², total gross floor area approx. 3,430 m², total gross volume approx. 14,580 m³. Heating installations include connection to an existing district heating plant in the basement, approx. 1,000 m of piping for heating circuit distributors, risers, and radiator connections, approx. 250 m² of underfloor heating on the ground floor, approx. 70 radiators on the 1st and 2nd upper floors, and approx. 20 convectors in the attic. Fire protection measures include 2 main shaft systems across all levels and approx. 70 fire-rated penetrations. Archaeological excavations for a new external staircase are required.
