Special requirements arise from heritage protection, necessitating a sensitive approach to original building fabric, repair and restoration measures, and the protection and preservation of original materials and constructions. Archaeological excavations are required for a new external staircase (basement to ground floor). Site access is via Martinskirchplatz, with constrained storage areas. The building is located in seismic zone 0 (DIN 4149: 2005-04 / 1981-04). Ventilation technology includes a central air handling unit in the attic with approx. 8,000–10,000 m³/h air volume, 3 ventilation shafts across all floors, approx. 400 m of air ducts (spiral-seam + rectangular ducts), approx. 40 long-throw nozzles (ground floor – 2nd floor), and approx. 20 swirl diffusers (attic). Fire protection and cable routing include 2 main shaft systems across all levels and approx. 30 fire-rated penetrations.
