Redesign of Kornhaus Museum

Renovation and conversion of the Kornhaus in Kirchheim unter Teck: historically appropriate renovation, modernization, and conversion of the four-story solid building (built 1540-53) with a building footprint of approx. 40.80 x 14.70 m, eaves height approx. 11.30 m or 11.700 m, ridge height approx. 20.300 m or 20.50 m, total usable area approx. 1,800 sqm, total gross floor area approx. 3,430 sqm, total gross volume approx. 14,580 cbm. The overall construction project will be carried out in two phases: Phase 1 includes the renovation, repair, and modernization of the Kornhaus from ground floor to attic, the extension of the first escape route (east staircase) and an elevator down to the basement; Phase 2 involves clearing the vaulted cellar of subsequent installations after the removal of the combined heat and power plant and the renovation of the natural stone vault. The building will be upgraded in terms of building physics and fire protection. A new external staircase from basement to ground floor will be positioned in Phase 1, and archaeological excavations and investigations are required. Services also include new installation from the water meter, 4 sanitary cores (one core per floor UG/EG/1.OG/2.OG), approx. 600 m of drinking water pipes (multi-layer composite), approx. 500 m of wastewater pipes (HT / SML / PE), and approx. 25 sanitary objects (WCs, washbasins, urinals, barrier-free equipment), further items as per the tender documents.
