Redesign and Renovation of the Kornhaus Museum
Heritage-compliant renovation, modernization, and conversion of the Kornhaus in Kirchheim unter Teck: The four-story building (built 1540-53) with a building footprint of approx. 40.80 x 14.70 m, eaves height approx. 11.30 m or 11.70 m, and ridge height approx. 20.30 m or 20.50 m will be upgraded in two construction phases. The first phase includes the renovation, repair, and modernization of the Kornhaus from the ground floor to the attic, including the extension of the first escape route (East staircase) and an elevator to the basement. The second phase involves clearing the vaulted cellar of existing installations and renovating the natural stone vault after the removal of the combined heat and power unit. The building will be brought up to current standards in terms of building physics and fire protection. The total usable area is approx. 1,800 sqm, gross floor area approx. 3,430 sqm, gross volume approx. 14,580 cbm. Included are 2 three-story internal staircases made of steel construction (approx. 13,500 kg), installation of approx. 230 pieces of client-supplied precast concrete stair and landing coverings, approx. 62 m of stair railings, and 2 internal doors. Archaeological excavations are required for a new external staircase (basement to ground floor). The building is a registered cultural monument, building class 4. further items as per the tender documents.
